I've had a busy day fulfilling my duties as Park Host. I do have to spend long hours atop the Park Host sign. But that's so I can readily be identified by passersby as an authority figure, in case they need my assistance. I like to think that my dignified presence on the signpost fills beach-goers with a sense of security, whether they're rock-hounding, boogie-boarding, kite-flying, photo-shooting, surf-fishing, dog-walking, bird-watching, sandcastle-making, or sunset-viewing.
I love being helpful. That's why I'm here. That and the benefits—free food.
